Smokin' Hot

Smoke looms ahead during a controlled burn at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Doing this actually protects the area from wildfires and maintains a healthy forest. Photo taken from a Taylor Loop neighborhood.

A note about the title: "Smokin' hot" is in reference to the new pre-school lingo my daughter has picked up. A boy in her class said their teacher is smokin' hot. Wonder where he got that! Now he has us saying it all the time! It's just too good. I had to share =)

Tinted Windows

ANOTHER gray day! But these windows are such a pretty color. I thought they were green in person, but now they look almost aquamarine. This is an office building in Cypress Plaza on Rodney Parham/Hinson Rd and Green Mountain Dr.

Wellington Village

Most days I travel along the same three routes (hauling the kids around, grocery, etc.) and the Wellington Village neighborhood is one of them. It is really gorgeous, especially how the homes slope down in nice little rows and nestle against the hills.

The Faded Rose

The Faded Rose, a New Orleans inspired restaurant, has closed their west Little Rock location on Bowman Road. Thankfully, they still have their Rebsamen Rd location. It's just more out of the way for me, but I'll go the extra couple miles. I just can't get enough of their creole salad and crawfish etouffee! Ooo wee!

Snow & Reindeer

It snowed last night! Just enough to transform Little Rock into a winter wonderland this morning. By mid-day, most of it had melted.

I love where I live. It takes less than five minutes to leave suburbia and head out into the country! On our morning drive to Pinnacle Mountain, we saw deer & horses. Of course, it wouldn't be a typical day without stopping at Walmart (I'm seriously there way too much. My kids need a padlock on the pantry) where we saw a reindeer. Reindeer car, that is.
